Annual Timp Hike 8/13/09

Me and some of my family decided to hike Timp again this year, but we took a different trail and it was 2 miles longer. The scenery was gorgeous though. This is standing at the bottom looking up to where we are about to hike, though it is only the beginning once we get to the top of that ridge.
My sister Soni, Brother Jake, Brother-in-law Mike, Brother Ryan and his son Quade.

Another shot of the trail.

The picture of this waterfall does not do it justice. There were little fascets in the rocks and it trickled down them and was almost glittery. It was so beautiful.
A shot of how steep the trail was.
This is the glacier we slid down on our way back- it was so fun!
Emerald Lake at the bottom of the galcier.
We are almost to the saddle and this is a shot of how much further we still have to go.
The valley from the Saddle.

As we got closer to the top there were a few mountain goats checking us out.
He stood on a rock and looked right down on us.

Finally at the summit! It is an 18 mile round-trip hike- we were feeling pretty good this time when we reached the top.
Taking it all in...
The views from the top are breathtaking...
The top ridge we followed to get to the glacier- this was the scariest part for me because I am not exactly a fan of heights and the trail is very narrow with a dropoff on one side.
Looking down at Emerald Lake.
It looks like we are on top of the world!

Another Trip to Washington 8/9/09

Jason and I went for a short trip to Washington to spend time with his family for his parent's Mission farewell. It was such a great experience! It is a rare thing for all of his siblings to get together since we are in Utah, Deena is in New York, Kristy is in northwest Washington, and Chad and his parents are in southeast Washington. We soaked up every minute with them! We are so happy that his parents are going to serve a Mission and we know they will do a great job.

Okay, so I guess I can no longer hide the fact that I am freakishly strong. Yes, you are seeing this correctly, I am so strong that I broke a golf club in half! My ball was right in front of that tree in the background (a twig really), so when I swung and followed through, my club caught the tree and broke. It barely made a scratch on that little tree, but it broke the club in half- go figure? It must have been bent already or something! It was so funny I fell on the ground laughing!

Us with Chad, Toni, and Mikey. We have so much fun
hanging out with them when we visit!

Another cousin's Birthday party 8/5/09

We went over to Quade's Birthday Party at my brother Ryan's house and Bridgette wouldn't let go of me for the first 20 minutes!

Bridgette and Gracie disappeared for a moment so I went to find them and this is what I saw when I walked into the room...
Cute kisses!
Brooklyn and cousin Gracie.
Bridgette absolutely adores her cousin Braden!

My baby is growing up... 8/4/09

Brooklyn started Preschool! She was so excited to get her backpack and go to school like the older kids. She asked me every 5 minutes if it was time to go yet. When I told her I was going to take her picture before we left she struck a pose all on her own. Isn't she a cute little thing?!Brooklyn and her cousin Max.

Rushing to the car....apparently I couldn't get them there fast enough!
